Thanks. I never knew what became of that model.
When I was little, my family took me all the way out to Bracketville to see the set John Wayne had built for his Alamo movie. Not the most accurate film, but definitely an eye-opener for a kid trying to understand the event.
They also made a giant card model of the whole Alamo complex, complete with Airfix figures painted to look like Mexican soldados and cuirassiers advancing on the walls. There weren't many different types of figures available back in the day, so Yankee bluecoats stood in for infantry, and French Napoleonic cavalry all got painted in the colors of Santa Anna's army.

I have a sneaking suspicion they're going to get to see some of the Collins collection while they're at the Alamo.
