Sword Pommel

Thanks for the info guys. I measured the one I found and it is an inch shorter than the one pictured for auction. It is 29 1/4". Also the top part of the blade is pitted so I can't tell if there was markings on the right side. The left side has no markings. The only other marking is on the front top of the guard.

I also found this on youtube (

) that shows a similar sword that is also 29". So original or a copy, it's all interesting background info to know. Thanks again.

E.L. Etienne Le'on (Lyon)???

Does anyone have the history on the French assembler Etienne Le'on (Lyon in Thillman's book). I found a history of him somewhere, and have now forgotten where that was :confused:...he died in 1845 I believe, and his widow continued on. His mark is found on numerous Klingenthal bladed swords...
