I've finally gotten around to displaying my swords vs have them stashed in the safe. I'd like to get some ideas from those who have swords displayed. How is everyone displaying theirs? Do you have the sword in the scabbard or separate? Vertical or horizontal? Etcetera.

Would welcome pictures of your display(s) so I can shamelessly copy. 😀 I plan to display them on a wall in my "library" (which is really just a fancy word for my junk room that has my books).

Thank you!

Sorry, but I have only one such sword.

I've always liked to display them with blades showing (if condition of scabbards allow. You don't want to hang a weak leather scabbard horizontally without support). At one point I had over 50 swords, filling several walls. This is the only sword wall left.

Swords specific to the National Lancers are displayed with the Lancers stuff.

Depends on the space. If it's narrow, then vertically. Look at museums and be inspired by their displays.

I've only one saber (marked 13 NGC - and I've never figured out what that meant)
National guard California? Love to see pics

I have 3 swords displayed in my small office/relic room. I prefer to have the blade unsheathed......which works great since 2 of these swords do not have sheaths. :) I used an acrylic sword display stand......see link below. You can find these stands for 1 or two swords as well.

Quite amazing - a museum!

Mine are all locked away in a vault. Some years ago a major collector moved a few blocks away from me in retirement. He lost his entire collection to what appeared to be a targeted burglary. I can't overcome that experience whenever I have considered displaying them. For the same reason I am coy about what I have. Or don't have to keep in character.

Marvelling and admiring all these displays, however, still make me regret the personal enjoyment I am missing from keeping everything locked up.

How about displaying about 1/4 of them, and possibly rotating them every two or three years?

One of the reasons my alarm system covers every door and window and includes sound sensors and motion detectors. And there is also the German Shepherd dog patrolling the house and the AK-47 in the safe in the bedroom. I enjoy seeing my collection and letting my friends see it out in the open.

......and I'll bet your Glock is in a quick-open safe on your bedside table.
