This is really nice!

If you want to see an almost poetic sunset, imagine the sun going down outside of the Confederate and/or Union cemetery at Vicksburg on July 4th. Gave me the fuzzies.
 
Beautiful photo! What a great place to visit. Gettysburg is also a great place to be at sunset. I have sat at sunset at the Angle before and just reflected on what happened there. It's amazing.

It's pretty much directly across West Confederate Avenue from the Eisenhower/Longstreet tower.
 
The 12-pounder howitzer in CSA Today's photo is the oldest tube currently on display on the Gettysburg Battlefield. It was cast in 1837!

Knew that was a howitzer and was just thinking about looking details about it when I read your post. Thanks you much :)

As for the literal sunset on the Confederacy, that debate will never cease. Not that there's anything wrong with that. :wink:
