Boat at right, Universe. Built at Cincinnati, 1857. 399 tons. 180 x 35 x 7. Used as a transport on the Tennessee River and Red River. Snagged and lost at Plum Point on the Mississippi, October 30, 1864 with 17 lost. Info from Way's Packet Directory.

I presume this is at Pittsburg Landing. These boats would never have made it to City Point.
