I have the opportunity to get a Trenton marked Springfield musket for 300 dollars. The nipple is broken of flush with the bolster but the springs and trigger action seem OK. Would you go for the deal?

Inspectors cartouche visible. Few dings on breech near nipple. Bore dark. I first thought the gun was a badly maintained replica until I got it in my hands and realized it was an original.

A decent gunsmith could get that busted nipple out in about 10 minutes of work after soaking the breech in a penetrating oil for a couple of days and then using a "Broken Screw Extractor," available in any well stocked hardware store.
