I was out at the cemetery for the Memorial Day presentation today. There are many Civil War graves out there, and a monument. These are the ones I could find and the information available on some of them on Find A Grave.
James Griffin
Enlisted as a Private on August 14, 1862 in Co. D, 22nd Wisconsin Infantry Regiment. Died of wounds on July 30, 1864 in Chattanooga, TN.

was in the Civil War. He was a Pvt. Co. C. 13th Regiment Wisconsin Infantry. He enlisted Aug 29, 1860 until June 13, 1865. Most of his enlistment was spent in Tennessee. I have his service medal, his discharge and his pension papers. David was born in 1837 in Montgomery Co. NY and died in 1931 in Delavan WI
Enlisted as a Private on December 30, 1863 at the age of 37. Enlisted in Co. L, 14th New York Heavy Artillery Regiment on October 8, 1864. Discharged June 15, 1865 in Washington, DC.

Enlisted as a Private on August 12, 1862 in Co D. 22nd Wisconsin Infantry Regiment. Killed June 22, 1864 in Kenesaw Mountain, GA.
This description does not talk about Civil War service but he has a GAR medallion. Some of the graves have medallians for people born after the Civil War. Was it possible to join the GAR without serving?
Newspaper Owner-Editor: Elkhorn Independent (Walworth County Independent)
"In June, 1853, Edgar .J. and Alonzo L. Farnum, from a farm in Geneva, put forth the first number of the "Elkhorn Independent," which soon passed into James Densmore's ownership. He was a ready write, but not a printer. He made the paper (Elkhorn) "Republican," and kept its columns free from the personalities so much Frank Utter's editorial stock in trade. He took John Hotchkiss, the- Reporter's foreman, into partnership about 1855. In the spring of 1857 Leland & Utter came with their little office equipment from Geneva, and Hotchkiss, Leland & Utter having bought the Densmore interest, became owners and editors of the "Walworth County Independent." Utter retired and in February, 1861, S. Fillmore Bennett came from some nook in Lake county, Illinois, and added himself as partner and editor. Before the end of the Civil war Mr. and Mrs. Leland were owners and editors and so continued to be until July, 1873."

"The Citizens Bank of Delavan, of which Mr. Williams is president, was organized in March, 1875, by Frank Leland, C. B. Tallman, John DeWolf and others, as a state bank. It started with a paid-up capital of fifteen thousand dollars, later increasing this to twenty-five thousand dollars. In 1910 the capital stock was increased to fifty thousand dollars, and it now has a surplus of thirty-five thousand dollars."
"The First National Bank of Lake Geneva opened, with capital of fifty thousand dollars, under the presidency of Frank Leland with John A. Kennedy as cashier."
