The Food Forum at CivilWarTalk is pleased to announce Special Cook Award to Albert Sailhorst. He has just published a cookbook, "Voices From the Kitchen: A Collection of Antebellum and Civil War Era Recipes From Period Receipt Books".

Congratulations to Albert. I know many, including myself, will enjoy his book.

WOW! Congratulations, @Albert Sailhorst!

Will you be marketing it at National Park, National Monument and National Historic Site (and state historic parks) bookstores? Seems like there's a potentially large audience out there for this, beyond all the usual places cookbooks are sold.

@Albert Sailhorst, I've added you and your book to my Excel spreadsheet of CWT authors. (Folks, I really will post that resource here one of these days if I can ever get formatting issues figured out!)

I clicked on the "Look Inside!" feature at Amazon and read your intro and a few other pages... I am utterly charmed! I really admire and appreciate your exacting commitment to total historical authenticity. That really does make your book different from others out there. Kudos!!

I would like to see such marketing done, but I think Amazon has all of the marketing "rights".....Thanks for the ideas, though!

Thank you!....I appreciate your kind words!

Since many of you have received or ordered Albert's book, wanted to bring Special Cook Award thread back up on him. Albert has contributed so much to the food forum. Hope many of you buy his book.
