As I have done in past for others who contribute to the food forum, I want to give a special cook award to Faraway Friend. She has added many posts on food from Germany and has also given nitrofd a special cookbook on German baking. He has added some recipes from book and I know will add more.

These recipes from a foreign country are much appreciated on the food forum.

Thanks Faraway Friend for your posts and interest in the Food Forum. You are much appreciated.

SURPRISE, SURPRISE!!
Thank you, I feel extremely honored and would never have thought that I would ever be mentioned among you great cooks!
This honor has to be shared with @nitrofd . He is doing all the work, I'm just providing background information as it is my job, LOL.

Thank you all for all these great recipes and interesting information about food items. I have learned so much here!
Let's enjoy all the good food of the world!

Congratulations, FF. Love German food!

What a wonderful choice, Donna, my ' Like ' finger was becoming weary! I need that finger as Donna's Food Forum worker bee. She lets me fill in when it's very, very busy- typically kind, she does all the work, I get the fun stuff!

So sorry to be late with this. Donna requested her winners have cyber prizes with a summer, ' watermelon ' theme. Decided to torque that slightly-' vintage' and watermelon can be hard to find. She loves historical aspects, even if these are cyber prizes. The intent is real!

Special Cook Award, to Faraway Friend is an antique Watermelon Tourmeline platinum filigree ring. There was no date ( Pinterest ), looks to me a turn of the century creation ( although we have members who will correct that if it is too far off ).

We wish it was a real ring, and sincere congrats- with huge thanks for Deutsch additions ! We may fight mit Siegle but we eat mit Andrea!

I will wear it with pride!
Look, it even matches with my t-shirt!

Wished that would be us:
