Other than the Chronicling America site, does anyone know of good sites to search through Southern newspapers around the time of the Civil War? Free sites would be better as I'm a poor teacher. :thumbsup:

Google was, at one time, archiving old newspapers in much the same way they have done with books. They've dropped that initiative, but you can search the ones they did already through their news portal:
