Source for replicated flat buttons

Hey guys! Anyone have a good source for flat button repros? My brother gave me a handful of real flats he'd found, but the gilt is gone and they seemed mighty thin. He thought I could use them on a repro coat but they seemed too fragile. I keep them in a display box instead. Didn't want to damage them.

Can anyone tell me anything about flats - i.e.- were they for the common soldier, did they come in different grades, etc. A couple of these look like pewter, but the rest are some other type of metal. One has a very ornate design on the back and says "Orange Rich". The fronts have no design.

Any info would be appreciated.
Thanks - Spyglass
