I have an 1864 Soldier's Pocket Bible in pristine condition. It is inscribed with a note to the northern soldier. I would like to get it appraised. Any advice?

Thanks.

Welcome from Oklahoma...!

One thing you could do short of hiring an appraiser is search the archives of some of the auction houses (e.g. Heritage Auctions) to see if something similar sold in the last few years and for how much. You may need to set-up an account with them to see past sales prices, but there's no cost or obligation in doing so, and a place like Heritage can be a good resource...

I've seen several original pocket bibles. Value depends on a variety of things. Size, condition, Provence etc. I've seen them from $50 through to several hundred dollars.
