I have with a carbine. Indian .69 smoothbore 2 bander cut down to carbine length by somebody. Had the weapon on the back over my bedroll sometimes. Works better when I don't have the bedroll. Easy to bring over the body quickly when necessary. I finally fashioned a sling bar and ring for the stock to use a carbine sling and snap hook.
