I'm not sure what to think about this topic, but I really would like to comment on it… so here goes:At the Spring Nationals, or any National Skirmish for that matter, you can walk down the firing line and see a wide variety of uniforms. As a sport, skirmishing draws on a multitude of personalities. [...]Related posts:

I do like to see some sort of authenticy on the line, let's face it some of the teams that allow light blue bluejeans/gray work trousers and any old checkered shirt with a period type hat as part of the uniform on the line for team events is a little hard to swallow. I was no shining example of living history when I was skirmishing, but I wore brogans, wool socks, correct sky blue wool trousers, suspenders, correct period type shirt, and bummers cap, correct rifle and accuterments of course, but you couldn't get me on the line to shoot with a jacket...No matter what the wheather was like!

I think the uniform should be authentic for the unit, sack coats, frocks, shell jackets optional. No "sky-bluejeans/cotton work trousers on the line for team events at least.
