Do I see stands behind numbers 2 and 3?

When I first learned of those, I thought they were only used for post-mortem photographs. Then I read that they were never used for that and instead only used by living subjects.

Still unclear about it, mostly because I get creeped out if I read too much about the subject, but these photos ~ assuming those are indeed stands ~ would obviously point to the latter.

*Note: This was not my first idea for a response. My first was, "This looks a menu!" :D I'll have a number 3 with a small fry and a small chocolate shake. Thanks!

Yes, you see stands. Lori, you need to get out more. Go to classy restaurant that don't got picture menu. Seriously, I looked for different stands and found two. Possibly three or four but it's hard to tell.

Isn't that the truth!

I wonder how those worked. Did they lean against them? Was the stand snaked up the back of their coats? How hard was it to hold still for a photo ~ did they really need a stand at all?

(Just thinking out loud, Mike. :) I don't expect you to answer all my questions. I shall flex my Google-Fu muscles and see what I can find. Initial searches turn up more post-mortems. Fun!)

A black belt at Google-Fu? I'm keeping my distance!
