Nice. I'm pretty sure that I still have my game cds for Gettysburg and Antietam around here somewhere. And as a bonus, the Antietam disc had excerpts from the Carman papers.
Some of the nice things about Antietam was that the units were bigger, so they stayed on the field longer, and rallied more quickly. The last time I played either game, I had to push them through an emulator. It meant playing Antietam without the sound, so I queued up an mp3 playlist of Civil War music and let it play in the background. The overall effect was like watching a visitor center movie!
Graphics wise, agreed. I liked that you could see uniform differences on the miniature soldiers. That was a cool effect for the Louisiana Tigers, among others.
I loved that game. Now I mostly play ultimate generals Civil War, but I haven't played that in a very long time I seem to be going further back into history studying the politics and policies of the 1850s 40s and 30s Nullification is most interesting, almost like a dress rehearsal for the war without the shooting.
I downloaded it from a site. Would be happy to provide that if interested. Obviously, downloads come with precautions, but I haven't seen any negative consequences from the site.
