I've seen dozens of plugged guns at several battlefields, and this one isn't plugged in the usual way. A 3in. gun next to the 1st New York Battery B monument at Gettysburg, appears to have a shell in the barrel of the gun. It's not perfectly spherical, but it is solid iron and convex in shape. It almost seems to be a hotchkiss shell jammed backwards into the barrel. Anyone know anything about this?
