Seems like a Hotchkiss shell to me. Just wondering what the value of something like this is, as we are considering selling for a fundraiser.

3" Hotchkiss with fuze adapter. $350ish? Most big dealers will have very similar condition shells for sale. Look around the www and you'll find plenty for comparison. Nice shell
...any details on where it was found?
No idea where it was found but the guy who collected all of this stuff was a huge Gettysburg enthusiast, and just about everything he has was bought there or Gettysburg related.

There's also these two, a 6 pound solid shot and I believe a 12 pound mortar? It has what appears to have been a fuse, that or someone tinkered with it to make it easier to mount on something. Has the number 4 on it.

Will you be auctioning these for the fundraiser?
Sorry for the late reply.

I ended up with the Hotchkiss shell and the other two balls were given to another camp member of ours. I'll probably parade it around for some show and tell but ultimately I think I would like to try and sell it for my camp. I also apparently have inherited a few interesting pieces, including a bullet lodged in a piece of wood from Culps Hill at Gettysburg with two boxes of books on the battle to boot.
