Wow, with that higher res picture, you can see a bunch of Colt Repeating Rifles. Did they see combat already when this photo was taken? Because the Colt Repeating Rifle had a bad rep of igniting all the cylinders, and badly injuring the handler. Unless, if they some how customized them to prevent this issue.

Just speculation, but could this be a woman (in the center)? Would make this photo all the more valuable if so. No to mention, the boy to the left resembles him/her. What if that were to be her child? An East TN Unionist family traveling together to escape Confederate occupation. This does seem very possible.

Good eye, there is even what I believe to be a Mississippi Rifle, third from the right.

A Henry Rifle, a ton of Colt M1855's, A Burnside Carbine, and a bunch what look to be Merrill Carbines, that higher resolution photo really shows a lot I like it.
