This picture is from the Atlanta Historical society of three Soldiers in the 9th Georgia Battalion Artillery Company A which is a bit grainy but I thought it might be a reference for those re-enacting artillery You notice how or if its is read around the collar but not so much so on the sleeves. The middle is Angus Perkinson who was a sheriff and Judge in Atlanta after the war. His ancestor was Medora Perkinson who wrote for the Atlanta Constitution.

They aren't wearing sack coats; those are Frock Coats.

Yup, frock coats. Probably and early war image

Probably the trim on the sleeves just doesnt show up as dark because of the lighting and the flash,but its there.
I am partial to frock coats,but sadly these were most likely turned into roundabouts.

They found that to be true in a lot of instances,which is why i said roundabouts.Lots of soldiers cut them of and turned them into make-shift shell jackets,to my knowledge.They then called these "roundabouts".
