OK, so I thought I'd buy vol I of Round Ball to Rimfire....why not. went to Amazon. they have one.
$795.00......vol II is $45 so I got that.
why the heck is that so $$$$ is it that rare?

and...what's in Vol I that Vol II won't cover. anyone have the book?

Because IMO that that book is very rare and is the original copy!

With there being over 400 different types of ammo used in the CW, Vol 1 cover most of the mussel loading ammo and is a must for the CW ammo collector.

They can ask whatever they want - what they sell for is something totally different. Most of my out of print artillery reference materials I have were purchased on ebay. most of the time the prices were way high and I just passed. When I'm looking for a book, I decide how much it's worth to me, then just start watching ebay. Many times they won't sell at the listed price. I just keep watching until I see one that's listed within the price I'm willing to pay and then jump on it. You just have to be willing to set a max price and stick with it, and keep watching. it may take a while, but so far I have been able to get all the reference books I was looking for at ( well, at least for me) what was a reasonable price. and that price was usually way below what most were asking for.
