Roly Poly Pudding also known as shirt-sleeve pudding is a traditional British pudding. It was probably created in early 19th century. It was traditionally made in flat-rolled suet pudding. Jam was placed in it and it was rolled up, then steamed or baked. It got its name, shirt sleeve, as was steamed and served in an old shirt.

Mrs. Isabella Beaton has recipe for jam roly poly in her book, "Mrs. Beeton's Book of Household Management" which is also known as "Mrs. Beeton's Cookery Book".

Roly Poly was served in Ky. in 19th century. This recipe is for "Orange Roley Poley" and is from "Old Time Recipes To Enjoy", "The Kentucky Explorer Magazine", Feb., 2017.
