It's a great photo and all but I can't help but wonder, why is she posing with a revolver?

Combine her expression with that particular sidearm, I'm sure there was an epic backstory now lost to the sands of time.

It's a great photo and all but I can't help but wonder, why is she posing with a revolver? What kind of message is she trying to convey in the photograph?

I was thinking maybe it's a photo for her loved one, if I was him, I'd seriously think about not returning home again, doesn't look like a woman you'd want to upset.

She has a slightly bemused look on her face, with a slight upturn of the corner of her lips. In other words a faint smile, and a knowing look. I'll bet, her gentleman, or Dad, or brother was worried about her being alone and purchased that for her. Here she is proudly displaying it.
