Forrest Researching General Nathan B Forest

Around 1979 or 1980 the Richmond VA library had a sale. A family friend who was an antique dealer went. She got several oak filing cabinets and a photograph of General Forest. She told me the photo had been hanging on the wall. After years of researching I have never found this photo. There are a dozen photos of him in his later life, but not the one I have.

It's a 11 by 16 photo with some small flaking on the edge of photo. The part under the frames edge. What should I do with this photo. I think maybe a museum maybe.

Thanks in advance for you thoughts on this

Kay

Hello Kay.

Welcome to CivilWarTalk.

I'd like to call up our residents experts on Forrest, @7th Mississippi Infantry and @diane, to help you with this question.
Thanks @Cavalry Charger ! but I'm no Forrest expert.

I'm only a host of his forum.

(I got the job because I was one of the main ones clamoring about the need for a Forrest forum). :D

@diane is 'hands down' the forum expert on the General. Moreover, she has help from quite few members than know more about him than I ever will !

Oh, Diane is definitely the expert, but anyone else who knows more about Forrest than me is also an expert in my eyes :bounce:
