Went back to the battlefield at Resaca, Georgia. This time I was prepared to walk the battlefield which I did. Again I was extremely disappointed. Some trails, however there are very, few interpretation markers and I found only one unit marker. There were 5500 casualties at this battle. Extremely hard to find battle lines and unit markers.

A group of us at the 2018 CWT Chickamauga gathering made a side-trip to Resaca on Friday afternoon that weekend. Yeah...not many markers there but a lotta acreage preserved and it was kinda nice being there. We had the Blue & Gray Magazine back issue on Resaca with us which helped with orientation.

I was walking around Picketts Mill the other day. Resaca is the next battlefield I am going to visit. Nice pics

There are several places outside the battlefield you can visit. CW Trust has bought some land. There is a fortification that is on a ridge and visible from someone's house. I visited that with a group led by Jim Ogden and David Powell a couple of years ago. Most of the portion of the Railroad cut is private land. Federal or State Government, I forget which has placed a rider on that property, where they can purchase those properties when they come up for sale. The Private Property owners allow use of their property for the re-enactments each year. It is closed the rest of the time.

So, this Battlefield is in its Infancy. Like all of the rest of em, much of it is on Private Land.

Yes, it is quite beautiful and peaceful there.
