Reproduction Richmond Model 1862

My LG has a model 1862 Richmond model and was wondering how accurate is it to a Orig. Besides reshaping the stock was wondering if all metal on the musket is correct and the correct hump on the lock plate.

A book about Richmonds I highly recommend is Paul J. Davies book: C.S. Armory Richmond

Mr. Davies was also the publisher of the book and it is copyrighted 2000.

The book has many pictures of the various versions of the Richmonds made and assembled at the Richmond Armory along with a wealth of information that Mr. Davies uncovered in his research at the National Archives.

If it is made by Armi Sport, it is probably not that accurate to the original. If it is made by Euroarms, and by extension Pedersoli (who bought Euroarms) it is more accurate. The so-called "hump" on the lock plate varied by production run, and there were lower hump models by 1862, if that answers your question. The issue with them seems to be over-representation. Not that many Richmonds were made, rarely more than 1000 per month but among CS re-enactors they are used like an alternative to the US Model 1861. There were 10x more US 1861s in CS hands than Richmonds.
