Rememberance Weekend

Remembrance day is coming up on Fri. the 19th. Remembrance weekend is Sat and Sunday.

Prroh and I were talking last night he thought it would be fun for a group of our members to get together before the parade. I agree it would be fun to put faces to names. So Prroh asked me to post this.

The parade starts at 1:00 so we are going to try to get together at the old Visitors Center sign across from Picketts Buffet between 12 and 12:30.

I think the sign has been removed, but the base is still there. I will be the old guy trying to look like a Federal chaplain. My wife will be the nice lady trying not to be embarassed by me.

My husband, son and I will be there. We usually don't get to town until noon or so, and we usually hang out at the corner of Middle Street where the parade comes out onto the main drag. But that means we're done with the parade first, and then we either drive or walk to the battlefield. If we get near there, and can get through the crowd, we'll look for you! I'll be the short reddish haired woman dragging a blond haired husband and a cute 8 year old son from Guatemala along behind her!

It would be fun, but I've done all the driving I'll be doing this year. Could possibly come back up in that direction on the way back from Charleston in late June or early July.

Last year the parking for the old visitor center was open and I was able to park there for dedication day and rememberance day.
