Sutlers- Cheers & Jeers Reenacting gear

2ndDEboy,

Sorry I was artillery and CSA/USA. However, check the ads for "gently" used duds here. When we stated in 2011 we made a trip to G'burg with friends who were in the unit and got our duds there. Where u don't want to scrimp is your footwear. Buy quality and/or best insoles. Also see if the unit go strictly authentic and for Union I would assume so. Make sure you get a good canteen and extra corks for the stopper. A good blanket is a good investment.

Have fun! I did for three years.

Great advice! Especially the canteen stoppers. Hobby Lobby has bags of corks for two dollars. 4 large ones or ten small ones and they also had a mixed bag of sizes. Good for whiskey bottles. Some of the modern brands sell whiskey in a corked bottle with a rubber stopper. Peel off the label and a corked stopper and you got a period bottle.
