Hi All,

After the recent talk of Earl J. Hess' new Braxton Bragg release and also because currently I'm indulging myself in Jeff Shaara's A Blaze of Glory, I am looking for some very detailed battle related titles surrounding and including the battle of Shiloh.

I have Winston Groom's Shiloh title sitting around and have only read the Prologue and first chapter and though very interesting thus far, it doesn't seem to be battle 'hard' enough for me haha!

I was also looking for battle related titles covering-->Fort Donelson, Fort Henry, Island No. 10 & New Madrid.

:cannon::sabre:

I did notice Larry Daniel's Island No. 10 book---> Good title for what I'm specifically looking for ?

Thanks All! I know I'm asking a lot and I appreciate all responses to this post and previous posts as well.

Give Braxton a chance!! Was he really that bad !?!? :wink::wink:

Winston Groom's book on Shiloh is just a story not much detail or information.Larry Daniels book on Shiloh is by far the best.also the special issue of "Blue &Gray " magazine written by Stacey Allen the park historian is your next best shot.

I am not big into tactical studies and Cummings was too much for me. It sounds like it might be good for you.

Winston Groom's was entertaining but there were some factual errors that kind of turned me off.
