Question

We have a guy that comes to some of our Florida events as a politician. He's not affiliated with any group as far as I know, he just shows up. Being affiliated with a group wouldn't hurt but it's not necessary. If you'd like to go to an event as such I'd just contact the host and ask if you can come do your thing. Almost all the big events have civilian impressions going on of some type.

I have often wondered how does a person get involved in reenacting if they would like to be a Confederate senator of Congressman? Is there a seperate unit I would have to join?
If you are doing an impression of a famous person, you might have to check to make sure there won't be two of you! So far I have met two Lincolns and one Davis, Mr and Mrs.

I do a civilain impression. Part of the time I wander around and sing, part of the time I sit at my table and take requests.

If I remember correctly, I once counted three Lincolns in the Gettysburg Remembrance Day parade. In a couple of those parades, another gentleman was portraying a politician, perhaps President Buchanan, considering his generally low esteem, who occasionally shouted, "Votes for sale!" or something along those lines.

That does seem like a risk. I guess if that did happen, you could accuse the other person of being an impostor!
