I think this photo has been examined here in the past, and it was determined to be a reenactor. However, I could be remembering that wrong. So let's see what those in the know have to say. Someone should be along shortly.
Yes, it is a reenactor. Somewhere on this site, it was earlier discussed, as LoriAnn mentioned.
I've also seen it discussed on other Facebook Civil War groups, and the same determination was made.

Hi and welcome. I believe it's a reenactor. The visual clue I see has nothing to do with his uniform or equipment. He appears to be standing in a field of machine-cut corn. The stalks are all neatly cut at the same height. A modern combine with a picker head has harvested that crop.
