Question about The Gilmore Medal

Hi all
I am researching The Gilmore, aka Ft Sumter Medal and am trying to find a list of its recipients,This medal was given to all those who served under General John Quincey Gilmore at Ft Sumter.
Does anyone know where I might find a list of those that served under him at Ft Sumter or a list of the Medals recipients?

According to Louis Emillo, author of the regimental history for the 54th Massachusetts, A Brave Black Regiment, 3% of the men of all the regiments that participated in the siege received the Gillmore medal. The medal was announced in the same order that renamed Battery Gregg, Fort Putnam & Battery Wagner, Fort Strong. Within the 54th, the four were Sgt. Robert J. Simmons (Co. B), Sgt. William Carney (Co. C), Corp. Henry Peal (Co. F) and Pvt. George Wilson (Co. A). (see pages 90 & 134).

You might have to find every regimental history of the units that took part in the siege to discover the recepients of the Gillmore Medal.

Thank You Gary,I am trying to determine who this painting is I do know that he is a US Brigadier General and that the painting was done right after the Civil War,The medal on the right is a MOLLUS medal The one on the left may not be a Gilmore medal but was suggested to have the same structure as one
