Purple Beauty Berry

This is a bush I just found in our backyard this afternoon.It is pretty big maybe 7 feet tall and around and it is full of these purple berries.i looked them up and they say they make a great jelly.itis a favorite of squirrels and mockinbirds.they say it also makes a great mosquito repellant and also works on red fire ants.way back when the native Americans used this fruit and bush for food and medicine for colic and other ailments.they say scientist are trying to replicate three of the chemicals found in the plant as an effective repellent for the mosquito that carry's yellow fever and it also repels ticks.
