I plan on buying 2 Enfield rifles for reenacting and I have a limited budget. I have looked on-line at Loyalist Arms products and was wondering about their products and hope that some of you can give me input on the rifles.
Thanks for any help you can give.

Have no fear, coltshooter. You will soon have six or eight recommendations as to where you might find the good deal. Question: Why would you want to buy two Enfields?

Are you doing re-enacting, LIving History or both? Enfield is good for a generic CS impression but dependig on what you're doing may not be the right choice.

Avoid the Loyalist arms product like the plague. The weight and balance is superb... ummm the weight and balance is superb but other than that I cannot recommend them for anything but a wall hanger. The barrel's aren't rifled or proofed and in fact were not originally intended for live fire. They are shipped to Canada w/ the touch hole undrilled to avoid paper work. IMO you would be better off taking a bit of electrical conduit putting a plug in it and shooting through that... about as safe. The quality control of Loyalist also leaves a LOT to be desired.

There are a variety of excellent vendors. Lodgewood being my favorite. James River Armory has excellent history as well. They often have excellent deals on their consignment page. IMO Lodgewood does about the best defarb for the money as well. I've seen superb deals on the NSSA board over the years, always cussed as I was short of funds when I did.

My own preference is the Armi-Sport as it seems to be a touch less wrong than the Euro-Arms and are easier to defarb.

Blockade Runner, James Country, Upper Mississippi Merchantile (use to get a tampion, sling and bag w/ purchase) and the Regimental Quartermaster has always had a good selection.

You get what you pay for, in firearms and in life.

Good Luck and let us know what you end up w/.
