Unfortunately NH's state symbol fell off the face of Cannon Mountain in the early 2000's.

The Old Man of the Mountain, died May 2003 from the effects of gravity on tons and tons of New Hampshire granite

Faraway Friend,

Glad you got the chance to see it, for nearly 150 years the stone face was the symbol of New Hampshire. It was a sad day for the state when it finally succumbed to gravity.
