Please Help Interpret This Name

From the Camp Lawton Roll of Honor. I have tried everything I can think of to identify this "Denis". Any insight would be helpful. Thank you.

Tried Duld and Deld in Soldier and Sailors database- nothing.

But found this guy from the 11th Inf.

Thought that found name could be similar, but Dennis M. Delfe belonged to Co. E, not Co. A as is shown recorded in the OP.

This is from the Camp Lawton Cemetery Roll of Honor in NARA. So it's Denis XXXX from the 11th US Infantry Company A

Thank you SO much. He is listed as Doeld in Roll of Honor publications.

The letter characters in 'Doeld' look to be a much closer fit for this written last name, but could not find this particular spelled surname on the rolls database for the 11th. US Infantry Regulars.

Thank you for sending the link. The image I posted is from the Camp Lawton Roll of Honor. The name does not appear in the roster of the 11th US. I am trying to determine the identity of this person.

I see you tried Deld, but it sure looks like that comparing the rest of the penmanship

By the way the writer connects his capital D's, I am convinced he wrote "Deld".

The explanation of Doeld would make sense. In German, it could be written Döld or Doeld, which is pronounced (roughly) "deld." My German professor would say "hold your mouth in the shape of saying "o", but try to say "e". It works with most of those vowels with umlauts (funny dots over the "o").

It looks like Denis Dreld, but I have never heard of the last name, Dreld.

Denis' in company A could be Hagerty, Nolan, Kenny, Murphy, and O Farrell. Denis' not listed with a company include Phillips, Lenois, Coleman, Shine and Enwright.
