After delays due to a redesign and the availability of quality wood, workers have finished the roof and are rebuilding the deteriorated front porch of Confederate Lt. Gen. John C. Pemberton's headquarters in Vicksburg, Ms., officials said.

Bradley, I wonder if there is a timetable for completion and reopening?
We could add a few months to that date and probably get a realistic opening date.

The NPS needs to learn how to do preventive maintenance, otherwise it won't be long till it will be in poor condition again. These old structures are not a "set it and forget it" thing.

The current ETA is mid-2024.

Current work project is mid-2024. Lots of interior work still needs to be done. There is no date for reopening.

I should have been more specific, sorry. NPS is currently reporting the front porch will be completed mid-2024.
