A new Georgia Civil War Heritage Trails® interpretive marker has been added to numerous others recently installed on the Atlanta Campaign Heritage Trail®. Entitled "Peach Tree Creek Crossing" (which is how this famous stream was spelled during the Civil War), this marker describes the eastern end of the fighting during the Battle of Peach Tree Creek on July 20, 1864. This is interpretive marker site #26 on the Atlanta Campaign Heritage Trail. Enjoy!

I am amazed the water looks so brown. Nice photographs too.

Welcome to Atlanta.

The Atlanta sewer system is build in such a way that when the overflow they spill into Peachtree Creek and Tanyard Branch. Anytime the slightest rain happens the creeks turn disgusting and smell to high heavens. Of course everything leads to the Chattahoochee. It is not uncommon to see toilet paper hanging in the low hanging branches after the water returns to normal.
