Pea Ridge Confederate uniforms

Well a birdie told me the other day a reenactment at Pea Ridge was happening in December, and it got me to wondering, what is known on Confederate uniforms worn during that campaign?

We all know about Price's theft of white uniforms from Cherokees, and I see no need whatsoever for that story to be rehashed for the millionth time. But no one ever talks about what style of uniforms they were, to be fair.

But noothing is ever heard of what Texans, Arkansans, and Louisianian troops wore, and I'm curious as to what data is on that subject.

I'd like to know something of the Arkansas and Texas troops. I know the 3rd Louisiana was notable for their nice gray uniforms at least initially (who knows how the campaign had affected that uniformity by Pea Ridge). I assume that since it was noted as exceptional that the other troops were outfitted in a much less uniform or even motley array.

I'd like to know something of the Arkansas and Texas troops. Texas troops, I have only guesses, one being there had to be white uniforms from Huntsville cloth present somewhere. Arkansas troops, I imagine there had to be some Little Rock Frock coats, though if they were gray or brown, trimmed or untrimmed is the question as photos, the one surviving example, and first-hand accounts offer a wide array of variations.

Ha, there might be a wide array because there was, in fact, a wide array amongst the Arkansans. There weren't an overly large number of Texans, but I dont recall ever reading exactly what they had at that point. I know they picked on the Missouri units for looking and smelling like sheep in their ice cream outfits. Not sure if that means they were uniquely clothed as targeted or if there were just a lot more of them making them liable for more abuse.

While researching Nashville depot uniforms I came across something about Arkansas frock coats with infantry blue trim...maybe it was Adolphus?

While researching Nashville depot uniforms I came across something about Arkansas frock coats with infantry blue trim...maybe it was Adolphus?

The ones you describe came from the Little Rock Depot, not Nashville. Both depots produced distinctive, and different frock coats.
