Paranormal experience while reenacting?

I visited the battle of Perryville, KY last week and we were the only ones on the pristine battlefield even though we didn't witness anything paranormal it definitely gives you a different feeling of sadness etc and does feel like your being watched. 7,500 casualties in a couple hours saw some fierce fighting.

In response to the non-believer(Craig Barry), there are far too many instances of things that are believed so, that cannot be proven or disproven- and spiritual perception is one of them. Your inability to percieve them does not refute them.
Countless testimonies exist of such paranormal encounters. A cottage industry exists at Gettysburg, PA dedicated to this. Close to my hometown is the battlefield of Chickamauga, and the local legend of "greeneyes" has circulated for well over a century. Many may be familiar with the phenomenon of 'channeling', where paranormal energies-or communications if you will-are transmitted by objects. This has happened to me on many occasions. To hold in one's hand what was buried for well more than a century is a special thing and beyond expression- or explanation- but undoubtedly are powerfully felt

Ok, I will give one experience.. I was at Crown Point setting up to watch a battle and looked over at a gentleman about 20 feet away.. He was garbed as a highlander and his kit was first rate, just standing there looking into the woods I turned to photograph some native reenactors coming from their camp, and when I turned around he was gone.. Now to give a sense of where I was I included this image

Regardless of the supernatural or not, once again, your pictures are super!

I think it was the 130th G-burg so that's like 93 i think. Saturday night we went to the triangle field and areas adjacent. Had good time, went home etc. A while later I saw "Unsolved Mysteries" and a group of 2-3 people were relating how in July of 93 they went to G-burg at night, hit Devil's Den and saw a Yankee soldier walk past them. When they turned he was gone. I'm famous baby ;).
Not to say I am a disbeliever, or other wise. An ex- gf would get chills or weird feelings in certain places. She was totally clueless as to where she was on the battlefield ( altho she did say one time "were not going to drive Jackson's flank march again are we? emphasis in the original.) Back to my point she tended to get spooked at places I knew were prime spots to be spooked out over. dunno.

last summer on the weekend of the 150th of sharpsburg, me and my unit camp on south mountain and we sleep right next to the nc monument there (since we kinda raised the money for it to be put there make sense why we have permission to be there) and i knew what happened during the battle and etc. but i had never heard of ghost stories about the mountain (next day my captain tells me that all the stories about things they have heard were about the mountain we were on little slow to catch on) well during the night i had got all bundled up and laid under a fly to stay dry cause rain was coming. so i drifted off into a light sleep. well i was awoken from rain falling on me through a small crack in the fly. i pulled the blanket over my head put my ipod in my ears and went back to sleep when i awoke again a hour later there was no rain ipod was dead and it was dead silent i rose up and it was pitch black dark. and off in the distance i heard a drum tap and then another and another, it happened 4 times i figured i was hearing things when i heard the tap four more times i dont know what it was that night that made that noise but it sure did spook me.

Thanks for your post Yankeedave, and I can understand your ex-gf's intuition, for the same happened to me:
I was metal detecting on the North bank of the Tennessee River near Suck Creek, outside Chattanooga. I unearthed a Spencer carbine casing in a rather unexpected place. Finding nothing else that day, I returned home with my treasure.
Later that evening, while examining my find, I felt compelled to write my short story, "Suck Creek", about a teamster killed by a Confederate sharpshooter. Months later, while doing research, I came across mention in the OR of a teamster killed on the Federal Road- very close to where I had hunted earlier. Furthermore, a pioneer camp was sited EXACTLY where I had been, and they were armed with Spencers!
Now, I had certainly known about the Federal Road for years, but I knew nothing about the camp, nor about any casualties in that area- until reading about them- months later. Channeling? perhaps..

If a dog can predict the weather, then an ex of mine can get an eery feeling.
I will add the experience a friend of mine at Gettysburg. Late at night early morning around the wheat-field, He said it sounded like someone whispered something in his ear. He said that it actually sounded like someone was screaming in his ear but like in a major battle, it only came across as a hoarse whisper.
and on the Joe Friday end of things, maybe Gettysburg is no more haunted than the rest, it's just the shear numbers that visit. We look at it as a trip to Gettysburg or some other battlefield, but for many it's the Only Civil War trip they will make.

I mentioned this in another thread, but when I was an extra in the movie Gettysburg, I was told a few stories from the guys who were filming most of the summer. I was only there for three days, but some were there a couple of months. We were shooting 20th Maine on Little Round Top, but our sleeping arrangements were a camp a couple miles away. Supposedly it was situated behind where the Confederate lines had been. Guys swore that sometimes they were kicked or punched in the middle of the night with nobody there, personal stuff would disappear and sometimes turn up unexpectedly, and reports of voices off in the distance but no one there. It never happened to me, but those guys said there were a lot of strange happenings there in the summer of 92.
Sounds like some Reb didn't like Yankees trespassing on his turf.

A professor was giving a seminar on paranormal activity at the University of Florida a few years back and he started his presentation with a few questions. He first asked for those in the audience to raise their hands if they believed in ghosts. Almost all raised their hands. He then asked if anyone had actually seen a ghost. Quite a few raised their hands. He then asked if anyone has had a conversation with a ghost. about a dozen people raised their hands. He finally asked if anyone has had sex with a ghost. One hand was raised. He inquired with the man if he actually had sex with a ghost. The man replyed by asking did he say ghost? He said that he was sorry as he thought the professor had said goat!
