Today while at the Monroe County Museum I was looking at this overcoat and it has three types of buttons. I am assuming the buttons were lost and replaced at some point.
Probably not an originally on the overcoat when it was issued. I am not sure what kind of button it is.
The top button is smooth and probably a replacement button as well. The next button down is a eagle button and may be the only original button on the overcoat.
