"As Mayor Parker and other supporters seek to raise $33 million to refurbish the park, they should not limit themselves to Houston or even Texas. People across the nation should hear the tale of Emancipation Park and the original Juneteenth, and have the chance to become part of history by making their own addition to that original $800."
