A local Civil War veteran in the rural area my grandparents lived befriended my grandfathers. My grandmother did not much like the old man and did not care for his drinking. He willed my grandfather his house when he died and the lonely old veteran was interned in a grave next to the plots my grandparents bought. My grandmother insisted that she did not want to be laid to rest next to that creepy old man and instead wanted to be by her mother in another part of the cemetery. Neighbors claimed my grandmother had the gift of predicting the future. She was very superstitious her whole life and was certain that the old veteran would haunted her. Well dispute her wishes she was put right next to the old veteran. Why he was going to haunt her is beyond my knowledge.

I have been putting off going out and getting my grandparents graves ready for spring. Every winter my grandmother's stone get turned a fair amount and nothing I have ever done seems to stop this from happing. Each year I go out with a six foot pry bar and pry the headstone back into place. I also need to kill the poison ivy that always grows between my grandmother and the creepy old veteran. It is the only poison ivy I have ever seen in the cemetery.

About a week ago I was thinking of doing my spring cemetery work but put it off. due to the cold weather. Yesterday I found the photograph the old veteran had given my grandfather setting out on top of some of my books. Now I must have for some reason got out the photo an set it there and forgot I did so. Still is the creepy old veteran reminding me to come out and remove the poison ivy hedge my grandmother grows every year to keep him form haunting her?

I have had things like this happen to me. I said to my husband one day that I wished I had a picture of our house before the windows were replaced and the siding was put on, so that I could see what any original trim looked like. A few days later, I went to get something out of the china cabinet, and there was a picture of our house before any work was done to it. It had not been there before, as the cabinet was empty when we moved in and I had never seen it before. I just thanked our resident ghost, who we call, Madame, and enjoyed the picture.
So, yes, I think someone was telling you to get your bass in gear, Major Bill!

Yes that cemetery has bad ghosts for sure. When I was very young we went to this cemetery I asked my dad why was there an iron fence around the cemetary. "To keep all the bad ghost from getting out." Was his answer. I was reluctant to go in to the cemetery with the trapped bad ghosts.

So when we got to our family plot it was one of two family plots with its own iron fence. So I figured the ghosts of my ancestors were really bad ghosts because they needed an extra fence.

When my dad opened the old rusty iron gate I could not be forced to enter. So there I was all alone with all the bad ghosts while my dad was in our family plot. I was terrified but still would not enter our family plot where I just knew the super bad ghosts were trapped.

My dad had me check the car before we left to see is "any bad ghosts were hiding in the car trying to go home with us." It is a wonder I did not have nightmares.
