In my area of west Georgia driving down a road often leads you past an old house that has been neglected and abandoned. There are also signs of former dwellings including chimneys that stand in the middle of a field or in the woods as wells as wells that are in the middle of a cow pasture.
Does anyone else have any that are near where they live and have pictures or any info on them?

Whenever I see one I like to stop and get a good picture and is coincides with my photography hobby.

Are you kidding? Growing up and still residing in rural northwest Missouri, where much of the native population depopulated during the fallout from the 1980s severe farm recession this gave me a good chuckle. I own three such old farmsteads. All originally constructed during the 1800s and one in the family for six generations. Nothing lives in them now, but coons and turkey buzzards. The abandoned houses have little value, as thieves have picked over and packed off anything salable, including the copper wiring. However, the farmland is very valuable. These vacant and abandoned farm houses are very common here, as I suspect they are in most rural farming areas.

This is very cool.

The only time I see places like this, we are on the road, and no one wants to stop. I would have to head out and search on my own, I think, for shots like this.
I always wonder whose home they belonged to and way they were abandoned.
Me too.
