The bolt gun on the right certainly appears to have been done in the 20th Century (stock, trigger guard, and micrometer rear sight). What it is I have not a clue.
L-R Linder Conversion of an M1841 to breech loader (pre ACW), Looks like a Merrill Conversion then a Wendl? a common European conversion to metallic cartridge Austria's answer to the US trapdoor & English Snider. The bolt action, not certain of the model, then you can see the top of an M1 Garand.
The Garand is one of the 20 made for the Army to test. The Army selected the Garand but only if Garamd changed caliber. I understand the experimental Gsrands are rare. Only 20 ever made.

Not a Garand. Its a thompson Semi auto rifle that worked on the same principle as the thompson smg. actually an interesting piece of american firearms history. Not totally safe to fire though! Ian from forgotten weapons has done a video on it. Definitely worth watching!
Cpl. Smith - I believe the Garand reference is to the 5th rifle at the edge of the photo, not the "Thompson Autorifle", and, thanks for the identification of that rifle, as I was able to look it up in the Government Trials of 1921.
