I going to delve into Col. Robert Martin.There seems to be quite a bit written about him,hopefully with some good source information.
The largest curiosity here ,is the wealth of evidence tying Martin to the NY fires, and his living there in relative comfort after the war. Why? I'll report back any first hand accounts.

One more remark;Wouldn't had been nice for the Davis ,Benjamin party to have been intercepted before he burned his papers and slipped off to Florida.

It appears Col. Martin actions are forgiven here allso under President Johnsons over extensive gift ,in 1868.

A Mock trial of Benjamin ,in the what if forum, would be a kick.

How so? I know very little about him, other than his government posts and the fact that he died in France as a self imposed exile..

This is only subjective... but his smiling picture creeps me out.
