Do you think the name here is Newsome or perhaps something else. I cant make it out?

Wow....thats a tough one @Stiles/Akin .
It would be helpful to see other examples of the handwriting to see how the letters are formed in other words. Can you tell if the penstroke after the "e" and before the "B" an extraneous mark or an intentional one? Is the dot above the stoke just before the "s" intentional - to dot an "i"? The first letter looks like an "H" to me but could be a "N" - but the second letter definitely looks like an "a" to me.
Harrison lt, B. (with raised "t") ?
Harrisone, B. ?
Harrisonet, B. ?
Starvisone, B. ?
Hawsone, B. ?
Stawsone, B ?
Harvsone, B. ?
Harvsonet, B. ?

Oh! wow.....I think the end of it - initials are actually "J. B."
So whatever the last name is ends with the "n." The thing I thought was an "e" is actually the tail of the "J". The J has a spot in in where the ink is smeared. If you hold your screen at an angle you can see the J.

So I'm going with
Harrison, J, B. ?

Thanks for bumping it up again @JOHN42768
