So far, not much action here.

But somebody voted for 'too difficult', but did not explain why.

Please say why you answered the poll as you did.

I can't control the posts on this particular forum, but if you would like, you can tell us (in confidence) why you think such and such about your answer, at the Trivia Game forum, 'New Trivia Game' (I will not release for view any posts of opinions, only correct answers to the sample question.)

By the way, I cannot explain how while where there a 3 replies, 2 for one answer showing 100%, and 1 for another answer showing 50%. That looks to me like like 150%! I'll pass it along the chain of command.

I will give the new game a try. I do not seriously expect to do well. This may be what puts people off. No one likes to show their ignorance  . The questions in previous games were about right, if a little difficult.

I will definitely play the new game (except when I'm out of town or otherwise can't play) and found the sample question JUST RIGHT. Something I really liked about the previous game was the statement of exactly when (day and time) the answers were due.

I see that there were 89 views of this thread, but there were only 7 votes. The good news is that 4 of those say they will defininitly give the new game a chance;
the bad news is that we need more than 4 players to make it a viable game.

If you have never played the game, why not give it a try?

Give us a vote and visit the Trivia Game forum.

I will try to play the new game however ther are weeks I just don't have time to look up some of the questions. And some of those questions were hard enough that it took some time to look up.

If I was to change on thing it would be the divisions.

I have particpated and even ran Civil War contests on other boards.

What about "the divisions"?

(We currently have a First Division - for those who have at least 2 perfect scores in a game, and a Second Division for all others.)

Anyone else have opinions about "Divisions"?

(20thMass: Who is Joe Metzler?)

I don't think the divisions work with a small group IMHO.

Joe Metzler is just a name I made up.You said you were testing the mechanics of the game so I just sent you that name.

I like the game and love to play. I foud the first question a little too complex and the second a little too easy, althoiugh it did require attention. I a agree that the two divisions are too much for a small game.
I think that a small prize, somthing that won't break us, maybe a printialbe, sutable for framing bragging rights certificate for the winner, would be helpfull in bringing in players.

Guess what? There will be 'prizes' (of a sort), but divisions will continue for various reasons which I will explain when I get around to posting a thread about new/continuing features of the game.

Sock: start and end times will be the same.

Your comment that one question was "too complex" and that the other was "too easy", exemplifies the high wire act I must perform as Moderator. I hope to keep it my balance and keep the questions balanced as well.

As to the matter of "a small game", we do need a decent number of players in order to make the game viable. (12 - 15 would be a good minimum), so encourage your friends to participate.

I am game for what ever y'all decide. I am just looking forward to the restart. Just to clarify I don't think either question was "bad", I just wouldn"t want all of the questions in a game to be like either of them. I know it is a hard job and a tightwire act, especally with as knowledgeable a bunch of players as hang out here.

Because I'm new to the forums and need to jump in somewhere, figured it may as well be here!

May as well!

Thanks Dred, hope you enjoy the game.
