Need help with find Military Record

Name is Levy M. Hathaway, Owensboro KY.
Could find record on Fold3, any ideas?

I thought the photo looked a little "post War of the Rebellion" so checked fold3 military registers. This looked promising: Levy Mellspaugh Hathaway

But I don't know. He was born in Kentucky in 1877 and that's about the period that your photo brought to mind. So. unless he was born asa full-grown man with a moustache, the picture would have to be much later!

Does this picture of an older Levy resemble your chap at all, do you think?

1860 Census list him as being 16. The one from 1907 is his nephew.

Ah good find by Missouri Rebel -- 1860 census has "LIVY" Hathaway. In 1870 he appears to have become a drug store clerk in Indiana (this time as LEVY). Looks like my Levy M Hathaway isn't the right one after all... just a nephew.. Sorry
