Need help to identify this item from todays dig!

Hello everyone... Went on a dig today and found a bunch of things, but most I could identify. I did find a hunk of metal about 20 pounds and have no clue what it is, but Im not sure anyone would know, as its just a piece of something. Anyway, the pictures below look to be some type of hitch or something but please let me know what you think. Found it about 6 inches below.

About 9 inches long by 1 1/4 thick. Seems like the one side would have been a triangle point. And the top has a flat point. Not sure at all but its heavy and rang like crazy on my detector. Here's some pictures.

Thanks for the reply. I just looked up pictures of the bootjacks and seems this piece would be too small for that. It does indeed look like one but the open end is too small for any boot. And on the other side is a hole as if there should be a nail or something there. Not sure, but again I appreciate the reply as I am learning each time I post here.

I have found both square and some round nails. More square which I believe indicates a home was nearby. Close by I have also found pottery and a bullet. There is a small running creek maybe 4 foot wide at most and some areas only a foot. It's always running so i believe it was an area where they used water for sure.

I jump in with my guess, coming from a farm myself, I think the top photo is a tooth from some type of harrow. It isn't a hitch for sure.

The second piece is broken off from something but what I couldn't say.

Wow! I believe you are correct. Didn't know what a Harrow was till now. Looked it up and found a piece of art that matches exactly. This is certainly a farming area. What would you date this back to? Here's a pic I found. Thank you for your reply and thoughts.

That would be a sickle bar. That would be a tooth off the sickle bar then and the blade that runs underneath the tooth is much thinner and long gone.

After more research you are 100% on cue. So thank you. A cool find for sure. Late 1800's from what I see. Here's an exact picture below.

My dad (long passed) and I spent many years doing commercial haying in NH. Sickle bar technology hasn't changed all that much!
